It is definitely paint. Although I thought it might be contact paper
based on its feel. I did not find a way to peel the paint with my finger
nail.
It really is mint, and I am very happy with it. I just always wondered
about the case. From all the replies, it is for real, and I will continue
to appreciate it even more now that I know it is not "doctored".
