I remember staying with an Aunt in Apache Junction... she had an old
jeep no roof (did not need it that often) we drove through the desert on
the sand just to see what we could see... Arizona was so wonderful.

One day while we were there the rain came and we took off in the jeep
driving on gravel roads in the rain... it was so comfortable we did not
mind getting wet. We came to a gigantic cactus and stopped. We
literally watched a bloom open up from the top of the cactus... it was
beautiful... it did not last long before it fell off.

I firmly believe that there is something special to experience in every
part of the world. I have been to the ocean, I have been to the
equator, I have been to a desert... and now I long to come visit Alaska.
