doing because they're just too longwinded on something I don't care about or

In such cases, it is wiser to either (a) cease posting that material or (b) 
form a unique echo for that purpose so that people don't have to go to the 
effort of ignoring them or being bothered by them. That's why I suggested Mr. 
Rice consider option (A) or (B).

Its the original poster's choice. I just felt that the original poster 
obviously had no concern for the fact that his posts were clogging up 
discussions on topics which *were* generating replies. In other words, 
clogging up material that people were more interested in....
If I wanted boring semi-automated crossposts, I'd subscribe to the usenet.
