The difference is the magic number. For canned software that number is pi,
versions beyond 3.14, for the internet the number is e 2.718
Nobody knows the exact reason for these relationships but many believe it's
because canned software must come full circle before it's accepted while
web stuff just has to show up in the logs to be considered accepted.
