Why would you want to have virtual users?
Linux is a system that is designed to support 1000's of users with 1000's of
variations, just like Unix where it was designed from.
It never ceases to amaze me to see people eventually change to linux from
Windows or Dos or whatever and immediately try and make linux work the way
their previous os works and thus override all the pluses that is available to
a true linux system.
The reason for my comment? Currently I have been contracted by a company who
has multiple servers in the USA and Australia, I am to "fix" their linux
servers. You know why it is not working to spec? Cause some fool previously
decided to set things up as virtual accounts rather then setting them up as
real accounts. So I am stuck trying to make a system where practically every
virtual config needs manual intervention for alterations and updates rather
then using the multiple true user system that linux is and being able to
simply alter basic group configs etc.
Cheers,
Rick
