In SMB/CIFS networking, a "workgroup" functions roughly like a domain. That
is, it is an administrative entity within which names are unique. All of the
participating clients and servers are expected to agree on the workgroup
me.
Another common reason why DOS clients may not be able to see OS/2 servers is
because an OS/2 peer server is not browseable. That is, if you type in the
explicit share name the DOS client will see it, but not if you rely on
browsing your network to find accessible resources.
