Hi David:
DP> I do. I am porting over ALL my previous FoxPro projects to VFP 5.0.
DP> I have been successful at bringing dBASE III over as well. In April,
DP> I'll be helping a friend here convert her dBASE IV application to VFP
DP> 5.0, too. They run "nearly" without any modification. Once you see
DP> it, however, you begin to ask yourself, "Why did I port this over? It
DP> really stinks! I could really make this application soar if I convert
DP> it."
The only things I've been porting over (even though I'm still just
starting with VFP 5) are the tables and queries. Hell, if you're not
going to build a new application that utilizes at least some of the
VFP 5 goodies, why bother???? There's a lot of gratification even in
the simplest applications' before and after. "Before" was great for
it's time, but when you see "after", you want to forget "before" .
DP> new techniques. I find it envigorating! I still have much to learn,
DP> but you can get up to speed faster than you thought you could. Really.
YOU still "have much to learn"????? All things being relative, I guess I'm
still in the VFP 5 introduction page .
Have a good one!
