If you want me to take a crack at it sometime, I've fixed at least one
"un-fixable" XE keyboard.  :-)

Hope you didn't buy that one new.  Remember how expensive those beasts
were when they were new?
 
P.S. Looks like all the computer bargains in my town have dried up -
they are re-routing them elsewhere now.
