Replying to a message of Shawn Highfield to TOM WALKER: SH> Hello TOM! SH> Replying to a message of TOM WALKER to SHAWN HIGHFIELD: TW>> Geos were Suzuki's and the Prisums were Toyota Corollas. Intrestingly TW>> the Chev Prisum was rated as lower quality than the Toyots Corolla TW>> that came off the same production line up in the Joint Toyota/GM TW>> plant here in Southern Califronia. SH> Just goes to show you the press is biased. ;) Actually it's peoples' perceptions that are biased, thus giving an illogical result to the poll. Autos made from the same parts by the same people on the same assembly lines should have identical ratings regardless of the nameplate on them. That said, I note that similar poll results have come out WRT Dodge and Plymouth vehicles and between Dodge and Chrysler vehicles (yes, I'm a MoPar guy). So it has to be people's perceptions rather than any actual situations. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/201 14/300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 633/260 262 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
