It's the secular equivalent.

And, many those you mentioned have refused an audience for controversial 
figures.  I think it was Columbia U that took heat because they 
did allow Mushariff to debate at their school. 

The problem with people like Savage is that they incite their 
crowds.  The right to assemble does not give you the right to riot.
