From: Rich Gauszka 

Not necessarily overheating ( I run iStat for temps ). It hasn't shut down
since I disconnected the notebook cooler's fans from the Macbook usb port.
That was the first time I had the cooler's fans going for several hours
straight. Shutdown + fans could be a coincidence but that's the only thing
that I haven't tried again to replicate the random shutdown ( not that I
want to see it again )
