Replying to a message of Richard Webb to Bob Ackley: RW> ... Amazing how much tape is on a 10" reel when it's not. About 1800 feet if it's a computer (1/2") reel, about 3600 feet if it's audio (1/4") tape. The hub in a computer reel is much larger. I have lots of both on hand here. I've also discovered that in very cold weather the tape seal belts on computer tapes break; they're stored in a secure but unheated outbuilding - on computer tape racks, even - but every so often I'll find one on the floor with the broken belt. I suppose I could complain to Wright-line, but it'd be pointless as nobody uses computer reel tapes any more (they went to tape cartridges - 'square tapes,' as opposed to 'round tapes' - a long time ago). --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/201 14/300 34/999 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 633/260 262 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
