DA> FIDE are running a knock-out? Seems ludicrous. I mean exciting but
CA> Oh, You've forgotten that Gata Kamsky is no longer a chess player.
CA> He's studying Medicine in the U.S.A.
Really? That's what I mean when I say I've been away from the chess news!
CA> The pairings of the first round are already done:
CA> I know that Spanish GM Miguel Illescas will play against Gretarsson,
CA> but I don't know the rest of the pairings...
Hmm, perhaps if the chess was really terrific I'd be won over... but it
still doesn't seem right.
CA> Do you have access to internet?
CA> Have you heard about FICS? (Free Internet Chess Server)
CA> It's like Paradise. :-)
I've heard of it, but not tried it really. I could never get any of the
GUIs to work. I liked ICC and the interface Blitzin, and there doesn't
seem to be a decent interface for FIC Servers. *sigh*.
Also the only time I would get to play when I got to Uni a couple of times
a week, and then I'm too busy!
I'm playing quite enough chess really, what with League games, tournament
games and corrspondence games! I never thought I'd say it but there might be
such a thing as too much chess ;)
Later,
Dave
