The first line has to be

   #!/bin/sh

(or bash, depending what you wrote it in).

And then it has to be made executable,

   chmod u+x filename

Ahhh...OK, I don't have a chance right now, but I'll check it out later. I
know I made it executable but I didn't but the path to the shell in.
