I think there's some confusion about what editor you're actually using. The internal line editor (not a full screen editor) displays the following banner when entering a message:
Enter message now (33000 lines max). Type /? on a new line for menu.
----+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+--
If you're not seeing that, then you're not using the internal line editor, but rather a different editor. The internal line editor supports /? and /S commands.
fseditor.js displays "FSeditor" on the bottom line of the terminal when entering/editing a message and does *not* support /? or /S commands (it uses Ctrl-key combinations for these fucctions).

The question is: using what editor? Not all editor recognize /? as a valid command. I don't think the terminal used makes any difference.
