CS> No problem! Just means you arent all that familiar with it because of
CS> that. Japanese are less 'milk intolerant' than most asians (reason
CS> unknown, just they way it turned out) so cheese is a part of the diet
CS> there, but a much more minor one.

I think at least some Asians drink Yak milk? Maybe not in Japan? I
don't know. Seems to be a mix of reasons for intolerance at least one
of them being exposure. I'm not trying to argue but it would seem in
order for the body to make the enzyme they'd have to have what makes
the enzyme and yet I do understand that some of us can react adversely
to that which makes the enzyme OR it's source for one or another
reason.... the proteins perhaps since gamma globulins target 'alien'
proteins I think.. something like that but I confess my info in this
area may need some upgrading.

CS> I pined for cheese for the 6.5 years in Asia. It was there, but not
CS> in much variety. Blocks of it in town were seldom larger than 4oz.
 CS> 2oz more common.

:) I have a friend who moved up to the 'doggie tail' of Michigan who
LOvES Sushi but there's NONE anywhere near here at all. I guess we all
miss that which we have enjoyed so much more when it's not readily
available.

Why kind of cheese did you find? When we moved to TX I was happy to
finally find the Locatelli (Sp) romano cheese not available in the
major supermarkets but rather the specialty food stores like Central
Markets. Ah.. now that's Good stuff. The other stores have brands of
this cheese that just don't rate. You get spoiled by good quality. :)
BUT if I couldn't get this kind I supposed I'd settle for Something
close.
