er.......
Hi Robert...haven't I seen you in another echo? :)
FR>Overall, I would rate it a good Morse mystery, not quite as strong as the
FR>last one THE WAY THROUGH THE WOODS, but definitely readable.
RW>
RW> I loved 'The Way Through the Woods' and have added 'Daughters... to my
RW> list. What I particularly liked in ...Woods was the puzzle within the
RW> mystery with Morse writing to the newspaper and the allusions that were
RW> drawn out.
RW> And Morse was a more likable character in ...Woods. Often he can be so
RW> overbearing to Lewis and have such tunnel vision in his investigating.
RW> Occasionally abusing his authority and hounding the innocent as though
RW> he was without blame or defect.
I think his "bullish" nature is part of his charm! :) Don't know if
can handle a "nice" Morse!! :)
One that comes to mind where he was particularly boorish and
ill-mannered was the one where he thought the owner of the local Jag
dealership was the murderer! That one almost cost him dearly!!
RW> Dexter does write very well and it is an enjoyable series, made more
RW> so by the TV adaptations.
Yep! Watching the series on TV is very high on my list of priorities!
Thank heavens for reruns and A&E!!
I like Inspector Frost, too. I have read a couple of the books, and
find that the TV portrayal is as good as it is in the Morse series.
ttys.
