I think you aren' thinking this through well enough.  There's a huge
element of hysteria and exaggeration in your response.

If I were going to go on a trip, I would.

No, it's not just a different form.  THE system of CREDENTIALS is a system
of control and institutionalized values imposed by other people, who 
you dont' even know, on YOU.  It's less free, as you admitted.
