Hi Carol,
RH> alphabets programmed in; I like to use them for personalised gifts.
CS> Neat trick! I do little sewing of that type, but I do craft more than
CS> the average person. Mostly I make candles . Lately I taught a
CS> neighborhood young lady (age 10) how to make them and gave her her
CS> it's safe). She brought me a candle just a few days ago!
My specialty for baby showers is a diaper bag (my own adaptation of one
we had years ago). I put the last name of the family receiving it above
the pocket, that way if there are several in the church nursery, they
can identify their own quickly. I try to get different fabrics for each
one but it's not always possible.
We tried some candle making one year; it was fun but not something we
really wanted to get into. Got a bucket of sand from the beach (We were
living in coastal North Carolina.) and cast sand candles; then I tied
macrame holders. Had to contend with a kitten that wanted to play with
the strings too. (G) We also did a cracked ice candle in a milk carton;
they are neat!
CS> Chuckle, she decorated it with butterflies from her science collection
CS> which might gross some folks out, but it's very pretty even if too
 CS> delicate to last long.
Give her points for creativity. She thought of an unusual way to
display part of her collection. She got a good start to a lifelong
interest in crafting too.
Catch you later,
Ruth
