subject: Re: Christians And Jews

Hello Jeff,

JS>What is most important is not our physical bloodline, but rather
JS>whether or not we have been washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
JS>If we are, then we tru are the Children of God, and of one and the
JS>same family -- the Household of God.

Jews were given the Torah.
Christians were given the Gospel.
Muslims were given the Qur'an.

The Jewish concept of salvation is different from the Christian
and Muslim concept of salvation. The Christian concept of salvation
is different than the Jewish and Muslim concept of salvation. The
Muslim concept of salvation is different than the Jewish and Christian
concept of salvation.

JS>Those who reject Christ are not of the Household of God.

It is not up to me, or anybody else, to decide who are members
of God's household. That is up to God.

JS>I've written a lot about this issue in my articles, but consider
JS>these key verses:

JS>"But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to
JS>become the son of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
JS>John 1:12, KJV

IOW, those who have received Christ, and accept the Christ, are
children of God, regardless of bloodline. But what about those who
have not received Christ? The very next verse is quite telling -

"And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and
Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, `Who are you?' He confessed, he
did not deny, but confessed, `I am not the Christ.' And they asked
him, `What then? Are you Elijah?' He said, `I am not.' `Are you the
prophet?' And he answered, `No.' They said to him then, `Who are you?
Let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about
yourself?' He said, `I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness,
``Make straight the way of the Lord,'' as the prophet Isaiah said."
- Jn 1:19-23

The reference to Isaiah is Is 40:3

Notice Jesus was asked three questions. Was he the Christ?
Was he Elijah? Was he THE PROPHET? Well, we all know who the
Prophet is/was. :)

JS>"For through him [Jesus] we both have access by one Spirit unto
JS>the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
JS>but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;"
JS>Ephesians 2:18-19, KJV

Yay! Circumcision don't matter! We are freed! :)

Now if only I could find that little piece of foreskin I lost
so long ago...
