Actually I am in Ladysmith which is a toll call to Duncan even though it is
only about 50 kms north of you. Chemainus would be the furthest southern
non-toll call for me which would also be non-toll for you (I looked it up in
the phone book). Thus if you know anybody there who would be willing to act
as an intermediate that would be the ideal situation. Seeing as you already
have what you need though I suppose nobody would mind too much if the code
was posted here or in the C echo. Seeing the code is in C and not C++ I
imagine it would more or less be off topic here unless of course I alter it,
which might be fun.

The big thing in this case is the comport routines which for the most part is
fairly set code (not much room for doing anything creative as it were). Once
you have control over the comport(s) then the fun really begins and the sky
is the limit. I know some people who use a fossil to handle this but using
dpmi calls is a whole lot more liberating and it will work with a fossil
driver if you need it for other applications such as a BBS and/or doors (I
tested it just to be sure). Once you have RHIDE all wired in you can look
the dpmi calls in the index under the "Help" thingy. There is enough
information there to get you headed in the right direction. If you decide
you want a comport library to link your program(s) with I can steer you in
the right direction there and it will save you writing a bunch of code just
to get the tedious stuff out of the way. I can't recall the name of this
library offhand but I found it on Simtel for the DJGPP compiler (freeware
btw).
Anyhow give this all a try and if you get stumped just ask and I will see
what I can do to assist you. Also best of luck and most of all have fun! :)
