Haven't really noticed it, but then again, I haven't really tried to do
that. I usually wait until the copy is complete before I do anything.

By the way, if you don't know about it, the following is a good OS X Web
site. They have some fairly sophisticated information available on various

Not updated daily but lots of technical articles and some higher-level
explanations of various aspects of OS X.

Don't think it's that hard. You can turn selected ports on and off if you
want to take the trouble.

Well, if you don't allow anything, the default config is pretty closed with
just the needed ports for Web surfing and mail being open.

Have you tried the log?

I read about it and even downloaded it but haven't installed it. Sounded
interesting. If you do use it, let me know how it is.

However, you can fine-tune the OS X firewall without third-party utilities
by using the Advanced features.
