Hi Richard and others,

Tnx for your e-mail. Yes, I found your very fine mod pages early in my
searching. Google does a very effective job!

I managed to find some 30 papers so far, quite interesting and I will 
prepare a little link list for the drake list later-on with those links.

I have seen in the several reflector archives a good many references to
projects were the R4C seems to have been almost completely rebuilt with
newer mostly solid state devices and I hope to get in contact with one 
or more of the designers/engineering amateurs who were involved with 
those efforts.

You might know perhaps of a project, Linrad,

for which I would like to use a R4C as a front end. This to have a
general amateur band receiver as well to use the R4C on 10 meter
as a IF for 2 meter EME with Linrad.

Another receiver for this would be the elecraft K2.
