Relatively popular sport here. I couldn't find anything in English, but

right. Basically there are two types of races: drag and oval. The
"snow"mobile has to be quite close to standard model, and they're
equipped with a small buoy at the end of a rope, from which it can be
pulled back up if/when it sinks.

Weird stuff, but pretty fun actually :-)
