Depends on who you ask, I suppose... I don't really think it works. All
it does in reality is shift what time it supposedly is when the sun
actually rises and sets... At the moment, sunrise is around 7:30 am EDT
as opposed to it being around 6:30 am EST... Sunset is shifted likewise.
So, true, if I don't get up until 10am, there's little difference... ;)
But if I have to be up and moving early, it's still dark at 6:30, and
barely light at 7am... I don't think that having the time shifted gives
more hours of available sunlight in reality, and it certainly doesn't
change how many hours of sunlight there are actually, just when they
fall.. and it's not like our factories are dependent on natural
light... most areas are without windows, and using artificial light
around the clock...
