Pardon my schadenfreude.  Shutting down one's notebook with a cooler
designed to preserve it does have a hugely comic aspect to it.

Don't I remember that early Mac laptops (?Wall Street) were famous for
costing you $800 for a replacement motherboard and $300 for labor if you
were foolish enough to overstress the unfused firewire port?
