I'd use the tap water.  Just add some dechlorinator first.  I use STRESSCOAT. 
 Some folks prefer to use bottled distilled water, but I've never been able 
to justify the expense.  Others recommend setting the water out in buckets 
for a day or so, then it will purify itself.  I don't like this either 
because I've a dog and kid, and leaving buckets of water lying around would 
be BAD idea!  It just depends on what you think and what's feasible at your 
home.
