subject: Caller ID -- How to display

ZJ> Quick question. Since the ZyXEL supports caller-id how
ZJ> would I get the modem to display the info. I do have
ZJ> caller-id on the phone line. I tried issuing various
ZJ> commands for the S40 register but none of 'em would get the
ZJ> modem to display the caller ID info on the terminal screen.
i'm going to assume that you mean that you want the modem to send the
information to the computer terminal screen and not on its own LCD
screen. it's hard to tell from the wording...
ZJ> What AT command do I need to issue to have the modem display
ZJ> caller ID on the screen?
AT*T
i have, somewhere around here, some notes on using telix with a script
file between a mailer and a BBS using the above to retrieve the info by
escaping to command mode, issuing AT*T and capturing it, and then ATO'ng
back online and continuing on to the BBS...
i found the AT*T information in my manual (doc #: 81053001, rev 2.1) on
page 12-6 at the bottom under the last caller id example messages. in
fact, in my manual, it is the very last sentenence in the CND section
