Was wondering if someone could help me.
I have a SupraFAX 14.4 external modem.
It will not finish the handshake with a BBS running a SmartLink 28.8
modem. Just about when the handshake is done and the modems should
connect, i can hear nothin in my speaker. After a few seconds I get the
"If you would like to make a call..." message. If i turn off all error
correction/data compression, it connects and then throws screens of junk
on my screen, then drops carrier. I can only get it to connect at 1200
 baud.
My Init string is AT&F2, which according to the Supra manual:
"Loads IBM  error correction/data compression.
These settings include: AT \N3 &K3 W0 &Q5 &D2 &C1"
The machine is a 486DX2-66 running  under DOS .

PS: Can anyone tell me the difference between the SupraFAXModem 14.4
and the SupraFAXModem 14.4 LC? I am pretty sure this is just the
SupraFAXModem 14.4, not the LC. .
