I like the new one you mention as well.
My experience with 'big brothers' was vicarious.  My brother had one, and he 
was a rather interesting man. He liked science projects, kite flying, and 
rockets.  John was just up his alley, and sometimes he would take us 'girls' 
along too for a family outing.  I've forgotten the name of the man, but not 
how he was, or how much he helped my brother John.  I recall him as a big 
man, with a booming laugh and a big love of life.
