They do have some performance considerations with AutoCAD, SketchUp,
Photoshop, and some other engineering applications.  I haven't sought speed
at any cost, and that offsets my tech's propensity to do just that.

So if you know of the perfect mix, I'd be happy to see it! Motherboards
I've used in the past are Intel and ASUS, ATi video, and Raptor SATA
drives.  I haven't really looked closely at RAM manufacturer/quality tho. 
I believe I just solved a problem due to a bad stick, waiting for the user
whine alarm to go off as I write this.
