And they heat more on 115V, of course.  Replace that cord; they're under
two bucks on the web.  In an emergency, you can squish the female with a
really big pair of pipe pliers.  Unplug the cord first (!), of course, and
expect an occasional deconstruction.

Anyone remember the "suicide cord" emergency lashups, with
clipleads, from the days before standardized connectors?  Anyone remember
floating a scope and measuring a kilovolt?  Anyone remember 1k 2W carbon
resistors coated with Vaseline?  Anyone ever held Cad-plated screws in his
mouth, and chewed solder? Anyone but me left who can still stand?
