That's interesting. Crabs and Lobs having a go at each other. heh.
Seafood IS "meat" actually but we tend to distinguish marine life
from land life maybe due to the fact most of the land life 'meat' we
eat is domesticated and fish are mostly wild?
BTW I've found Atlantic Salmon way better than the farmed variety.
And did y'all know that farm raised ducks (mostly grain fed) are not
as 'gamy' tasting as wild duck (due to what they eat in the wild.)

They're not raised tho, they are naturally for the most part social
critters and willfulling mingle with humans... much to their
disadvantage in the case where they're seen as food rather than work
animals or pets.
You know what is worse than eating dogs? It's using them for
drug/chemical testing. And then instead of putting the damaged animal
down, they release them to shelters. SOME of them can be
rehabilitated.

According to Linda Elerbee in here witty/winsome memoir "Around the
world and Across the Table" CHILI got it s start (In Texas) when on a
long cattle drive the cowboys would slay an old steer... She says
fresh beef stinks and tastes sour. So they'd gather up wild onions and
other herbs they could find , throw in coffee or any liquid at all to
it..and stew it. Beans got into it later.
((The sourness taste comes from the iron compenent in the blood I think; not
from decay.)
