FWIW, I don't add any de-chlorinator to my water. I add it straight from the 
tap. Granted I only add maybe 2 qts (in a 20 gal tank). I figured the new 
water would dilute with the rest and stabilize itself. I've been doing this 
way for months and my tank/fish have never been better, especially since I 
added a new/better air pump (an Ethical Products P-380 (27$) with dual 
utputs
and adjustable speed).
