My memory may be going. However, I seem to remember that the early TR-7=20
sub-panels were one piece. The late TR-7 had a three piece rear sub-panel.

Research indicates that the change in the sub-panel design took place in=20
mid to late 1978 or around serial numbers 48=D8=D8 to 6=D8=D8=D8 according=
 to an=20
article by WB4HFN.

There were reasons for the change in the sub-panel design, but it is not=20
relevant to this discussion.

Hello Paul,
to my knowledge, there were never any TR-7A's produced with the single
panel; the split panel was used early on in the TR7 production run so any
single panel radios are probably the earliest TR 7's manufactured.
I can't help you with the 7A serial numbers, but I'm sure some one on the
list will know.
