Lee, while that may be true in a lot of cases, it is not true in every case.
In some families, the parents may be atheists, agnostic, or nominal
Christians, and yet their children become strong Christians. Why is this?

In my case, I suppose my parents would fall in the nominal Christians
category. As far back as I can remember, they never ever went to church, but
they made sure that we kids were baptized and confirmed in the Catholic
Church. I became a dedicated Christian, not because my parents made me, but
rather because even as a young boy and teenager, I hungered after the truth of
God and His Word. Even though I did not fully understand it at the time -- and
obviously still don't -- as a young teenager, I used to read a modernized
version of the New Testament called "Good News For Modern Man".
God rewarded
me with the truth, because I personally sought after it. As Jesus said:

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled."
Matthew 5:6, KJV

"Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that
weep now: for ye shall laugh."
Luke 6:21, KJV

In the Book of Job, we also find this verse:

"Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed
the words of his mouth more than my necessary food."
Job 23:12, KJV

And there are many similar verses throughout the Bible.
