I've noticed something. People (no matter what their status/wealth)
will do as they please regardless of consequences. How do we help
people care about consequences? Well one way is to make THEM pay for
it. But this is only possible in cases such as traffic violations,
where the DWI person pays fines, perhaps spends time in jail and or
loses his license and or needs to attend rehab. Or in cases of say
speeding where the offender must pay a fine or do community work.
When people have to pay for what they do wrong, they learn a lot
faster not to do it again.
But since wasting energy is part and parcel of what the Unregulated
Corporations thrive on- it will always be the consumers (no matter how
hard we try to conserve)- who pay. And will keep on paying until the
resources dry up etc.
Ah well! Such is that is as it is the way it is and nothing short of
making drastic changes those enjoying the fruits of wastefulness
the most will prevent - wastefulness will prevail.
I surmise it's up to the conscientious individual to conserve, live
within their means- set an example- ANYWay... It's like a small grain
of sand in the oversized shoe of greed. Won't be felt right away. But
then again sand grains can build up in time, if not by choice then
need.
What is going on now is proof positive, absolute power corrupts,
absolutely.
Cinders
... 54% of all statistics are made up. No, make that 82%.
