You where writing to Alexander;

 CH> That sounds very much like the "too much cam" syndrome. At low RPM

The cam is a copy of the old L79 cam, other than what looks like a bit too
much duration (222{at}.050 or 290 advertised), the lift is a paltry .447"

The cam in my Nova is a crane fireball 290H. Similar specs, except with a lift
of .454", and essentially an identical engine, very different characteristics
when you punch the gas. Sure, theres an extra 1000 pounds on the truck.

The only cross to my mystery 1137 AI cam I could find, is a blueracer
WG1137 grind. You can see the specs if you goto the crane cams web site and
click on the blueracer link. 454" lift, tighter lobes, and less duration.

 CH> Yes, there is an adapter, now that I think about it. Used early on

Good. Couple it with an Edelbrock performer rpm manifold, could make for
an interesting experience.

 CH> I saw that on the news. Yikes! -40 is cold in either C or F. The
 CH> same, actually. It's the crossover point.

Truck started right up the following morning. The winds
have been COLD recently. Hopefully next week sees us finally staying above
the freezing point. I've had enough with winter.

Alex.
