ANNOUNCING!!!
"COLOR ME QUILTED" quilt block exchange!. Please read if you are
articipating
or interested in participating!

Each month we have one winner, and that winner chooses the color and the
finished size of this month's Quilt Block of the Month. If the winner so
desires, the winner may choose a quilt block pattern as well, or just opt to
let the participants decide that part of the quilt block. Then, each
participant sends their block to th
at winner. The winner will end up with lots of blocks in a given color
cheme,
making it easier to produce a color quilt for themselves, a gift, etc. Thus,
the name of this quilt block exchange!

The winner then draws a name from those participants and the new winner
chooses the next block color and size. That winner will also take names for
that month. All names included in the draw must be eligible for S&Q exchanges
according to the S&Q exchang
e guidelines.

It is recommended that participants do the following before mailing their
block:
    * Please use only 100% lightweight quilting cotton fabrics unless
the winner has agreed to another type fabric.
    * Ensure that your block complies with the size requirement of the
inner.
A "finished" block size does not include a seam allowance - your block should
measure a 1/2" larger. A "raw unfinished" block size includes the seam
allowance, and your block should measure that size. Therefore, a "12 inch
finished size" should measure 12 1/2". A "12 1/2 inch raw unfinished
size" should measure 12 1/2".
    * Press and trim your block! It should be square (no funnies hanging off
the edge) and pressed.
    * Sign your block. If the winner does not state where the signature
hould
go, it should be somewhere in the block where it will show when the quilt is
finished. If you sign it in a seam allowance it will not show. Machine or
and
embroidered signatu
res are fine, as are permanent pens.
It is recommended that winners do the following:
    * Please give a color scheme using either very descriptive names of the
colors OR DMC/Anchor embroidery floss color numbers. For instance,
"Christmas green" or "DMC 699" would be more descriptive than just "green".
    * Include your block size and state whether this is "Finished" size or
"raw unfinished".
    * Include accurate directions if you are requesting a specific block.
Please remember that many quilting newbies are using this exchange (and
others) to learn to do specific blocks!
    * If you don't want the block trimmed, pressed, or signed, please state
so.
*Don't forget to include your address and if possible, include your phone
number with your block. This will allow you to be notified quicker if you
re
picked as the winner. The number will be destroyed after the drawing.
    * Please keep the coordinator (me!) informed as to the status of blocks
arrived and ones that did not arrive that were expected.
    * You are asked to continue to participate for another 6 months after
winning. Your name will not be entered into the drawings during this
time, to allow others the chance to win.

Enjoy the exchange!
