We had nothing like that here.  The rise in the lake levels had to do with
glacial melting and the melt of a bigger than usual snow pack.  At least
the water level is beginning to recede.

I've always meant to make one of those detours but haven't got around to it
yet.  One of these days.

We had lots of bears as we had a bumper crop of berries but no harm was
done.  Cougars still don't seem to have made it much further north than
Watson Lake.  As for 'our' buffaloes, they are actually British Columbia's
but they are pretty peripatetic as they have sighted at various points
between Contact Creek and the lower Liard on the south side of the Hot
Springs.
