Greetings One and All!
Having a conference for chess is great, I mean it's useful to be able
to advertise for a couple of friendly games and perhaps keep an idea on
the new chess files that come up.
But I for one would enjoy chatting with anyone and everyone about chess.
I mean anyone thinking about openings? Anyone got any good ideas they'd like
to discuss in here before trying at their club? Anyone want advice or have
some to offer?
Or is anyone interested in chatting about the chess world? New books,
tournaments or programs?
Here are some things I'd be interested in chatting about:
1) The World Chess Championship:
FIDE are running a knock-out? Seems ludicrous. I mean exciting but you
an't
call it a World Championship... especially if Gazza's not playing. Also who
will win it? Kramnik? Anand? Surely not Karpov? Hope it's not Kamsky!
2) The Andersson-Book line in the English.
(Sorry, 'Book' should have dots over both 'o's, it's Finnish.) I like the
look
of this line but have very little info on it (a chunk in a chapter in one
book).
3) The King's Indian Attack
Fischer liked it, it's solid, but is it too passive to play in
orrespondence
chess?
4) Almost anything else :)
Later guys'n'girls!
Dave
