Read the above and my previous posts again (if not the first time),
please. NO ONE IS ADVOCATING THE RECREATIONAL USE OF MARIJUANA OR
ANY OTHER DRUG FOR CHILDREN.
Next, there is no valid study demonstrating the cause-and-effect
relationship that you presume from your limited, anecdotal,
personal observation -- just because two things sometimes happen
together doesn't mean that one caused the other.
The reasons that some children take more than one drug
include the fact that some of those who are inclined to take drugs as
a regular psychological escape may be inclined to take whatever they
can get their hands on that will accomplish the effect. The ones that
you are talking about were screwed up and without proper family
connection *before* they started drugs, which use is a symptom of, and
probably causes an exacerbation of, an underlying problem.
Some people have problems with drugs, but the vast majority don't,
which is *not* to say that children should be permitted to use drugs
recreationally -- they are developing physically, socially, and
emotionally, and any drug use can interfere with this development.
