They make mention of a flu that killed many people after the decline of
civilization; I thought the lack of travel would prevent the spread, but lack
of news and declining hospitals would probably make up the difference, and then
some.

Has anyone here lived through any flu epidemics? Imagine them with modern-day
knowledge but Dark Ages era preparation.

I could imagine people hoarding triclosan based anti-bacterials.   :)
