Hello again Janis. I would like to share in your optimism, but many years of
observation have made me a skeptic in more ways than one. As I've noted to
my readers and acquaintances many times before, I have very little faith in
the American political system. I have come to believe that the changing of
the guard every four to eight years means very little anymore, because, in
my view, US presidents are simply symbolic figureheads who cater to, and are
manipulated by, powerful interest groups of various persuasions.

The minute that a new president enters office, he is already so in debt to
these various interest groups, that his term has pretty much been plotted
out for him. Yes, he has limited freedom to make certain decisions so that
he can act presidential, but when it comes to the major decisions, his hands
are tied.

Whether there is a red president, or a blue one, the situation for the
little man on the bottom doesn't ever change very much. Think about it.
About twenty years ago, the minimum wage hovered around $4.00/hr. Today it
hovers around $7.00/hr. Twenty years have gone by, and all we have to show
for it is a measly $3.00/hr increment, while the cost of living has
skyrocketed. Is it really any wonder that so many folks end up in the
welfare line, accepting food stamps, and depending on housing supplements?
As Jesus said:

Why is this? In large part, it is a result of man's injustice to man; and
that begins with compromised political systems, and corrupt business
practices.

I agree; it shouldn't be happening, and it is indeed wrong, but do you
honestly believe that there is anything that we can do to stop it? I don't.

There is a lot of confusion regarding that phrase "end of the world". While
the Bible does clearly indicate that one of these days, following the
Millennial Rule of Jesus Christ, the current Earth will be destroyed in a real
physical sense, it is my belief, based upon my understanding of the
Scriptures, that this will not occur at the time of Christ's Return. In other
words, as I point out in such series as "From Armageddon To The New
Earth", it
is my understanding that Christ's Return, whenever it occurs, will signify a
changing of the guard. In other words, the Battle of Armageddon, which will be
a real, physical battle, will result in the total defeat of the governments
and armies of the world who fight against Christ.

I have speculated in some of my articles that those people who do not know the
Bible, or understand Endtime events, may fall under the deception that the
Return of Jesus Christ is actually an alien invasion from Outer Space, and
that is why they will willingly fight against Christ and His armies.

At any rate, my point is, the physical Earth will not be destroyed at this
time. It will still be here, and many people will still be here. It won't be
the end of the world yet, but simply the end of man's corrupt rule upon the
Earth, as Jesus rules with a rod of iron.

I agree; you are absolutely right; and it is a shame to our Christian faith
when these modern false prophets and misguided people do this. It might
interest you to know that while I have been writing about the Bible, and
preaching the Gospel for many years, I do not make it a habit of citing
specific dates and years. I think that it is foolish to do so, and is
basically committing suicide, insofar as one's credibility is concerned. Don't
get me wrong; I do believe that we are living in the Biblical Endtime, but
until I see certain prophetic events occur, I am not about to say that Jesus
will be returning at any moment.
