It's been a terrible month.....I thought I had the IREX problem fixed....it
wasn;t, so that was part of the problem. The other part was wit my ISP. I
finally threatened them enought where they actually found and admitted a
problem with the circuit out side of the house.

I simply told them I would rent test equipment so that I could submkit the
results to the Public Service Commission.

Now....I have a super special modem installed.....it allows them to do a
true loop back test from their end to my modem and back....they can measure
line loss, etc.

Hopefully now when there is a probelm....they can identify and fix it
quickly. In their defense...they lease the copper from Verizon...and since
Verizon wants to dump the cooper to force everyone to go to FIOS...they do
not maintain it. I observed a Verizon repair guy wrapping a heavy duty
platic bag around a cable junction. When I asked him why that instead of a
rubber boot...got a vacant look in his eyes.
