Yeah, it's pretty much a given that the stock market is mostly insider
trading causing the volumes to stay high.  Also credit card debt is the
highest ever, and real estate, although recovering is expected to fall
again.

The only problem is, after completion of the North American Union, the
Amero which will replace the dollar will keep gold from hitting $1000 per
ounce as it did in te year 2000.  It should get higher than it is now.  So
far, I've averaged 18% increase in value per year on my Au.
