I'm old enough to remember gasoline for $0.25/gallon and at the same time
diesel was $0.09/gallon. For many years diesel was much less expensive
than gasoline. Note now that the demand for diesel is way, way up - due
I think in the most part to the proliferation of OTR rigs; there have always
been semis on the road, just not in the numbers that have been there for
probably the past decade. And the number of rigs, and consequently the demand
for diesel, is increasing - even ignoring all the other users of diesel, which are
also increasing.
