Message-ID: http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/ 3/2/2004 3:14:00 PM Tuesday news update: Hall of Fame, Mania, More from Atlanta, marketing symposium, major newspaper story coming, plus huge indie with Foley, Lawler, Dusty and more by Dave Meltzer hsmeltzer{at}juno.com Added Wrestlemania matches made last night were Chris Jericho vs. Christian, Rock & Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair & Randy Orton & Batista and a four-way for the tag titles with Booker T & RVD defending against Dudleys, Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade and La Resistance. The WWE officially announced its Hall of Fame inductees as John Studd, Don Muraco, Junkyard Dog, Billy Graham, Jesse Ventura, Pete Rose, Bob Backlund, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, Sgt. Slaughter and Bobby Heenan. The inductions will be made on 3/13 and either the people themselves, or family reps in the case of Studd and JYD, will be introduced at Wrestlemania. Please don't ask me how they come up with these names. The Pete Rose publicity stunt got the event a lot of publicity today. --More from Raw in Atlanta last night. Mike Bucci (Nova) b Ray Gordy, Travis Tomko & Kevin Fertig b The Kingpins (two of Brad Rheingans' guys). Onyx was actually billed as Kyle McNeeley (his real name). After the show, Batista took a rock bottom and Foley gave Orton a double-arm DDT. Rock gave Flair a very easy rock bottom. Austin came out with Rock and Foley. They teased issues with Austin and Rock and started singing songs. Foley sang "Georgia on my mind." He wasn't good. Foley talked about living in Marietta and Acworth and how Austin used to live in Austell. Foley said he was looking forward to the match at Mania more than any match of his entire career. They went on forever. The crew asked for them to wrap it up. Rock wouldn't drink beer so chugged Gatorade. They went more than 30 minutes total. --The encore of Raw next Monday on TSN in Canada is being pre-empted by the 2004 Nokia Brier curling tournament (thanks to Adam Lebow) --Eric Bischoff did a marketing symposium on pro wrestling for Georgia area university students before Raw last night.
