I used to have the `LIMBAUGH' echo selected and read it many years ago
(sometime in the early 1990's).


And every day it was the same thing......wild-eyed `Lim-bots' literally
`gushing' over something or other Limbaugh had said on his show the day
before.


There were two moderators of that echo back then...one was Mark Fornoff, and
the other guy's last name was Freeze (I think).


Anyway, after reading the echo for a year or more, I once read a series of
messages in there that just `gushed' stuff like; `Well...Rush is always
right!' .....or `Mega-ditto for Rush!'....etc etc.


Finally, I took one particularly sickening-sweet post from someone who spouted
`mega-ditto, Rush' about every third sentence, and replied to him. I just
posted that `You have to remember that Rush Limbaugh takes about $30,000,000 a
year to the bank doing what he does. And its mostly entertainment. Limbaugh
does what `sells. Thats why his show is so popular'.


Well....


The shit hit the fan!


Freeze and Fornoff didn't even show me the courtesy of a message telling me
not to post there anymore. One of them went to my SYSOP (Bud Jameson at the
time, here locally), and demanded my feed to the echo be cut under threat of
the SYSOP losing his feed to Fido!


On the same day.....Fornoff posted up a message telling the rest of the echo
that I was hereby permanently  banned, and I was not to be posted to, replied
to, or anything I posted spoken of in any message traffic in that echo.


Freeze immediately posted up a revised set of echo rules that included the
admonition that the echo was strictly for fans of Rush Limbaugh, and Rush was
not to be bad-mouthed, spoken ill of, or mentioned in a derogatory manner
under any circumstances!


Bud called me that evening and told me about the feed-cut request from
Fornoff, and asked me not to post in there anymore. We (Jameson and I) had
known each other for awhile and I agreed not to.


The echo went down hill from there. One or the other (either Fornoff or
Freeze) would post up the rules about once a week or so, and after awhile that
was the only traffic there, period!
