I had setup a single 56k dialup line to UUNet years ago for an old employer
which was used for Internet email only (plus a few of us special IT folks
that could use it for surfing, too). :)

Later, we added a total of (4) 56k lines to UUNet on a multi-link PPP
setup. It wasn't too far from then we went to a T1.

We have a 250Mbps connection to the Internet at my current employer.. :)
In less than 5 years, I wouldn't be surprised to see 1Gb.
